2020 Volvo S60

What's New For the 2020 Volvo S60?

Today's S60 extends the model's third generation. This luxury sports sedan maintains its engaging and comfortable reputation, and Volvo added steering-collision avoidance to its blind-spot monitoring system for 2020. Additionally, the Swedish automaker made its virtual instrument panel a standard feature.

2020 S60 Has Abundant Features

Volvo offers this nimble and compact luxury model in a wide variety of setups that can help you find your perfect feature configuration. This year's trim classes include: Momentum, Inscription, R-Design, and Polestar Engineered.

In the S60 Momentum, you will find LED daytime running lamps, LED headlights, and automatic high beams. Also, it rolls on 18-inch, alloy wheels. On long drives, you will enjoy the Momentum's panoramic moonroof, leather-wrapped steering column, on-demand driving modes, and four-zone climate control.

When you opt for an S60 Inscription, you add heightened luxury to your sedan experience. Its features include driftwood interior accents, a leather dashboard, and GPS navigation. Music lovers appreciate the Inscription's Harman Kardon audio system.

For maximum performance, choose the Volvo S60 R-Design. Among its features, you will see fog lights, sport seats, a navigation system that includes real-time traffic info, steering-wheel shift paddles, and Harman Kardon's 13-speaker audio setup. Conveniently, this trim also gives you a hands-free trunk lid.

If you prefer a premium green car, choose a Polestar Engineered S60. It delivers hybrid high performance along with Nappa leather seats, a Polestar-tuned chassis, premium audio from Bowers & Wilkins, and other exclusive elements.

Raw Power and Stellar Performance

The engine options for the 2020 Volvo S60 are the T5, T6, and T8. The T5 is a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder that will generate 250-horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Supercharging the already turbocharged T5 engine makes the T6. It gives drivers 316-horsepower as well as 295 lb-ft of torque. Taking that T6 engine and adding electric motors makes the T8 engine. Between the engine and the motors, the T8 produces 400-horsepower and 474 lb-ft of torque. For the T8 Polestar Engineered trim, this engine can make 415-horsepower and 494 lb-ft of torque.

The 2020 Volvo S60 Has a Long List of Safety Features

Unlike many other vehicles, the S60 does not make drivers add packages or buy the top trim to get advanced driver aids. Standard on all models are important features such as a drowsy driver warning system, run-off road mitigation, traffic sign recognition, lane-keeping assist, and forward-collision warning complete with automatic emergency braking.

Also standard are remote vehicle controls. If drivers do decide they want more, there is a Premium package available that will add a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic and an automated parking system. Other available safety features include automatic high beams, headlight washers, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree surround-view camera.
