History of the Volvo S60
The Volvo S60 is one of the most sought-after executive compact vehicles on the market. It was originally launched in Europe in Autumn of 2000, as a replacement for the S70. Standard equipment on that original version included antilock four-wheel disc brakes, front side airbags, side-window curtain airbags, anti-whiplash front-seat backrest and head restraints. Its design was revolutionary. Modeled after the executive S80, it retained the reputation for safety that Volvo has long been renowned for.
The second generation was released in 2010 as the 2011 model year. It ran from 2010 to 2018. The third and current generation was introduced in 2018 for the 2019 model year and the 2024 version of that vehicle can be purchased here at Volvo Cars Arrowhead.Â
